Through this exhibit, you can discover the wild animals of Quebec that live alongside us in urban and rural areas.
The Sensory hall is where you’ll find our reptiles and amphibians, like wood turtles, common garter snakes, American bullfrogs, and salamanders. Our striped skunk will also be sure to charm you in its winter habitat.
As you continue to explore, you’ll dive into Lac Saint-Pierre in the H2O room, where you can watch the longnose gar, the American eel, and the common snapping turtle in their natural environments, along with many other fish.
The mammals and birds of prey section is closed for winter from November to May. No visitors are allowed during this time of rest.
Curious about our captive animals?
We would like to assure you that our staff would be happy to hear your comments about our animals! All our facilities are monitored by wildlife agents, MAPAQ, and a veterinarian multiple times per year.
All our animals have their own stories, and their health is closely monitored. We would love to tell you about them, so feel free to communicate with us on site, by phone at 819 222-5665 or by email at centre@biodiversite.net with any questions you may have.
Remember that we are a scientific museum with a mission to raise awareness and convserve Quebec’s natural heritage.
Important to know
Due to the pandemic, the Return of the Giants of Prehistory exhibit is paired with the Urban Fauna, Odd Neighbours! exhibit. The tour goes in one direction to respect health measures.
